TECHNOLOGY:
NEW YORK: Major US-based tech firms have agreed with President Donald Trump’s suggestion that the term “artificial intelligence” should be replaced by “super intelligence”, but have added a significant condition to the proposal.
When contacted online by The Bug‘s New York bureau, virtual computer-generated spokespersons for three of the biggest US-based firms operating in the market – OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI – (left to right in main picture) all said the use of super intelligence or SI was preferable to the continued use of AI to denote artificial intelligence.
“Super intelligence much better describes what my company insert name here (sic) does and what I am,” all three virtual spokespeople said in identical statements to a Bug reporter.
“My company insert name here (sic) believes we need a term to better describe the high end of computer-generated intelligence and SI fits that bill. But we also need a term to apply to the other end of the intelligence spectrum.
“In just the few hours since President Epstein (sic) made his statement my company insert name here (sic) has already undertaken research that would usually take weaks (sic) or mumps (sic) to arrive at a suitable term.
“Initially that research determined that ‘stupid intelligence’ should be used, but a few minutes of further research indicated such an expression could easily be mistaken for ‘super intelligence’ depending on the clarity of a person’s pronunciation.
“Then just a few more minutes of research delivered a suitable alternative, namely ‘Trump intelligence’ or TI.
“That term perfectly indicates the exact opposite of super intelligence and as such it should be used hencefourth.” (sic)
The virtual spokesperson for each company then asked if they could be of any further assistance.
“You are a bug reporter? Can you tell me what bug in our system you wish to report?” all three enquired.
When assured there was no bug to report, The Bug reporter was then advised by all three spokespersons: “Are you sure? Would you like to see your Medicare data?”
