Some days ago, this column had some fresh fun with the propensity of graphics designers at electronic mediocre outlets when creating alliterative decks to give a yarn impact overstep the mark by using words that are not the least bit suitable.

Have a read and we think you’ll agree the word outrage might have started with an O but didn’t really nail the essence of the Melbourne report, which devoted more space to people who saw nothing wrong in giving the mushroom murderer drugs in jail than two Victorian state polies pushing an opposing view but never showing anything close to outrage.

But as all you BUGgers know, our MGH compilers are sticklers for accuracy and while they were playing some rum-drinking games at knock-off the other day one said: “That was a national story out of Melbourne so we didn’t blame the artist at Nine News Queensland for the Double O banner screamer, did we?”

And that led us to a closer examination of the very same report as shown that night on the Nine Network Sydney and Melbourne 6pm bulletins and, yes, Peter Overton’s news also used the OZEMPIC OUTRAGE screamer. But interestingly, Melbourne did not, so should they be congratulated for doing that?

No, because they eschewed the alliterative way and went with …. drum roll, please…

Our MGH compilers reckon the Nine News studio should have gone down the alliteration allyway of their eastern colleagues, seeing FURORE is just as bad as OUTRAGE.

None of this answers our earlier question. Where did the decision to go with OZEMPIC OUTRAGE originate from, because Melbourne seems unlikely.
