ABC braces for Bibi blast

Our Media Glass House researchers who also compile our Mediocre Bytes column are predicting a full-frontal blast from Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, (below) against ABC News for the blatantly antisemitic headline it used for an online story about an Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) attacks on sites in southern Lebanon overnight. (main picture)

Our researchers feel Bibi (below) is on very solid ground with his complaint and has every right to expect an apology from the national broadcaster.

They say it is obvious that the ABC headline, “Israel killed Hezbollah commander in Lebanon strike that left children dead”,  is completely misleading.

It should, of course, have read “Israel killed children plus a Hezbollah commander in Lebanon strike”.

Our MGH teams say when the primary aim of a military operation is the genocidal ethnic cleansing of an entire people, it is important that efforts to wipe out the next generation of those people are reported correctly.

They believe Mr Netanyahu would appreciate his goals being reported accurately since he is often raging against misleading media coverage of his and his government’s actions.

The annual Royal Brisbane Show, better known as the Ekka, was once again fully embraced by News Crap Australia’s daily turdbloid in Brisbane, The Courier-Mail.

During the run of the show, which closes its gates today, the Courier even published a big feature that included old black-and-white photos from decades past but which had been colourised to make them more fresh and exciting. (below)

Our Media Glass House researchers suspect the job of tarting up the snaps was delegated to someone on staff with the initial A and I.

They base their view on the fact that one of the old pics featured contained a Brisbane City Council tram in the background. (below)

Unfortunately the tram was coloured in the green and creamy yellow livery applied to Melbourne trams for many decades.

All of our MGH researchers cannot recall ever seeing any trams of that ilk running on Brisbane streets, and they should know given their ages.

Speaking of the Murdoch media, the Facebook site of its Sunshine Coast Daily yesterday posted the story below complete with a seemingly new spelling of  the word “abuser”. (below)

Our MGH/Bytes team included it simply to illustrate how quickly readers can pick up on such inadvertent stuff-ups.

To illustrate their point they have captured a comment by obviously keen SC Daily reader Mike Taylor who was very quick off the mark to mention the error in his own pithy way. (below)
