CANBERRA: The federal opposition’s Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ted O’Brien, says his statements approving Israel’s ongoing military assault on Lebanon and its people under the guise of attacking terrorist group Hezbollah should come as no surprise.
“The coalition opposition has always stood up for Israel’s right to exist,” Mr O’Brien told ABC TV’s Insiders yesterday. (main picture)
“But we have done so and continue to do so in a very balanced manner – we believe in Israel’s right to exist but we also believe in Israel’s right to ensure Lebanon does not exist.
“We are also on the record since October 2023 backing Israel’s right to ensure Gaza does not exist.
“We also support Israel’s right to ensure the West Bank does not exist apart, of course, from the bits of it taken from Palestinians and now inhabited by new Zionist settlers.
“In fact we have a bipartisan position with the Albanese Government.
“While we may occasionally disagree on the finer points, the Foreign Minister Penny Wong and I usually are on the same page when it comes to the overarching principle of Israel’s right to make sure Palestinians don’t exist,” Mr O’Brien said.

WASHINGTON DC: The FBI has released an identikit image (below) of the prime suspect in the alleged vandalism of the reflecting pool in the US capital that has been renovated at the cost of around US$14 million.

Mr Trump said he had instructed FBI Director, Kash Patel, to ensure no effort was spared to apprehend those responsible for the damage inflicted on the reflecting pool.
“Until this ringleader is arrested and executed under federal law, we should all continue to celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary,” he said.
“That’s the reason [Vice-President] JD Vance initiated what has turned out to be a very, very expensive project to paint the reflecting pool in time for this year’s Fourth of July celebrations.”

CANBERRA: One Nation party leader, Senator Pauline Hanson, says she and her parliamentary team (below) will soon release their own monocultural blue print for Australia.

“Since my speech at the National Pest Club [sic] I have been asked what I meant by a monocultural Australia,” Senator Hanson said.
“We are working on our new policy that will show just what I mean and it will rebut any suggestion that I am just borrowing political tactics from the US, in particular Donald Trump.
“Our monocultural policy will make Australia great again by deporting immigrants.
“We need to get rid of them because as you now, they’re eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats.”
Senator Hanson confirmed her new policy would also include plans to build “a big beautiful wall” around Australia’s coastline.
“Some say that idea is unworkable and too expensive, but Gina says otherwise, so it’ll be in the policy,” she said while halting any questions from reporters by labelling them all peddlers of “fake news”.
