Harris campaign adopts Aussie tactic

SAN FRANCISCO: Former US Vice-President, Kamala Harris, has adopted a tactic from Australian politics in her latest bid to reclaim the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination for the 2028 US election.

Ms Harris who lost to Donald Trump at the 2024 poll has lately been stepping up her efforts to grab her party’s nomination.

“Kamala is keen to avenge her 2024 defeat by once again being the Democrats’ nominee and this time winning the White House,” one Harris campaign strategist told The Bug‘s US West Coast bureau on the condition of anonymity.

“But this time around she is determined to play just as hard, if not harder, than Trump did against her even if he is not on the ballot.

“Of course nobody knows just yet that he definitely won’t be on the ballot even given the two-term limit applied to the job by the US Constitution.

“If push comes to shove and he renominates, we really have little faith in the US Supreme Court (below) to stop him.

“It’s especially worrying given that we are hearing that the White House is informally testing the waters with pro-Trump justices on the Court to determine how they would view a scenario where a presidential nominee who is also serving a second presidential term seeks a third term but is also dead.

“We believe that so far a majority of the judges have said they’d have no problem waving that one through.

“So that’s why Kamala is insisting on playing hardball this time and that’s why she has adopted a new slogan inspired by news reports from Down Under in recent days.

“We’ve been road-testing her new slogan, Punt the Cunt, at recent rallies (main picture) and with focus groups, and it seems to be largely working.

“There may still be some refinements to make in its presentation as we approach the presidential primary season.

“For instance, some members of the focus groups are confused about which particular cunt they are being asked to punt.

“Some see the slogan and immediately think of Vice-President JD Vance, others say it refers to Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, and  others immediately think of FBI Director Kash Patel. Some even say it’s Elon Musk. It’s a long list, actually.

“So we may need to amend the slogan slightly by inserting an adjective or two in the relevant spot, such as ‘orange’, or ‘fat’, or ‘compulsive lying’, or even ‘pedophile’,.. oops, sorry, I should say ‘paedophile’ for your Aussie readers.

“But we’ll work that out as soon as possible so that we have a slogan that can take us right through to November 2028 and hopefully this time all the way to the White House,” the aide said.
