Labor’s kind offer to Nine

The Australian Labor Party has offered to fund the full production costs of an extended series of 60 Minutes interviews between Karl Stefanovic and Scott Morrison and his family.

“We’d be more than happy for Channel 9 and the 60 Minutes program to do this every Sunday night up right up to the expected federal poll in late May,” Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese said this morning.

“One or more of those shows can replace anything they might have planned to do on me. I don’t mind at all, really.

“In fact I’d like to thank the station generally, the show’s producers and interviewer Karl Stefanovic, who for mine is probably this nation’s best investigative reporter, for that amazing insight on Sunday night into why Scott and Jen were so attracted to each other when they first met as teenagers.

“There’s 13 more Sunday nights left if the election is on May 21 and we’d just love for the Australian public to find out as much as they possibly can about this amazing power couple.

“I’ve told Nine Entertainment Co chair Peter Costello the money’s no problem. No problem at all.”
