CANBERRA: It will truly be Australia’s Day on January 26 when daily COVID-19 case numbers are set to drop significantly.
The Bug understands that National Cabinet at its meeting this coming week will vote unanimously that from January 26 all states and territories will only publicise the number of their citizens who have not caught COVID-19 in the previous 24-hour reporting period.
“By the end of January, this figure is expected to be very, very manageable and possibly only in the low hundreds,” one state chief medical officer (right) told us on the condition of anonymity.
Top honour bestowed
MELBOURNE: The Pharmacy Guild of Australia has bestowed honourary life membership on Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
The PM was told of the honour yesterday as he posed for a professional photograph moments after being passed a huge baking dish containing a whole Northern Territory barramundi prepared by the chef at Kirribilli House on Sydney Harbour.
SYDNEY: All members of National Cabinet have received gift vouchers of an undisclosed amount from electrical and furniture retail giant Harvey Norman.
The Bug understands a personal, hand-written note from Gerry Harvey and attached to each gift voucher said simply: “Feel free to hand these back if you don’t think you’ve earned or deserved them.
“But I suspect most if not all of you won’t give a RATs.”
