Bernie floats bipartisan ticket

WASHINGTON DC: Left-wing US Senator, Bernie Sanders, has floated the idea of a bipartisan ticket for the 2028 presidential election in the wake of the divisive years of the two Trump administrations.

Senator Sanders, aged 85 and who has served in the Senate representing Vermont since 2007, said Americans were tired of the hardline partisan nature of politics.

He was elected as an independent but aligns with the Democratic Party on most issues.

“I am offering a new approach at the 2028 presidential election,” Senator Sanders said.

“Today I can announce that I will be shuffling for… I mean, I will be running for the office of President of the United States in 2028.

“Not only that, but my running mate will be a Republican Party colleague from the Senate.

“Today I can also announce that my shuff… err, running mate will be none other than the senior Senator from Kentucky, Mitch McConnell. (below)

“Mitch has a wealth of experience, having been in the Senate since 1985 and at 84 years of age he still has a lot to offer. Just as I do.

“I am pleased that Mitch has accepted my offer to form a unity ticket in 2028. Well, at least his wife Elaine (at right below) accepted my proposal on Mitch’s behalf.

“Elaine agreed with me that Mitch would be an ideal US Vice-President. Totally suited to the job in his current condition.

“She said she is looking forward to helping in our campaign and asked that she and I get together soon to discuss the formaldehyde needed.

“I think she meant the formalities that might be needed to initiate our bipartisan ticket,” Senator Sanders said.
