Opposition Leader Anus Taylor has refused to comment on claims that he is a secret crossdresser after being photographed at a weekend fashion parade for drag queens at a Darlinghurst hotel in Sydney’s LGBTQI+ precinct. (main picture)
Despite efforts to hide his identity, Mr Taylor was snapped on the catwalk by an undercover reporter from The Bug‘s Sydney bureau in the early hours of this morning at a fashion parade hosted by the Butch’s Block Hotel in Oxford Street.
Mr Taylor would not comment when contacted by The Bug this morning. But a Liberal Party strategist who witnessed the event and did not wish to be identified said there was nothing wrong with Mr Taylor’s participation in the fashion show.
“I think you are misinterpreting his decision to don drag and strut the catwalk,” the strategist said.
“In fact you are missing the point entirely. This is actually a stroke of sheer political genius on his part.”
The source revealed that Mr Taylor himself had devised the plan to appear in the drag queen fashion show.
“Anus has been releasing various policies or floating various possible policies since he became leader in February this year,” the strategist said.
“Many have been economic policies or have implications for Australia’s economy and public finances.
“Today’s unveiling of the Liberal Party’s immigration policy is no different and will no doubt trigger the very familiar grilling by reporters.
“In particular journos will ask – as they have done at previous policy releases – if Anus has done any modelling.
“Today, after his appearance at the Oxford Street pub he can honestly say: ‘Yes, I’ve done modelling’.
“As I said, this is sheer genius on his part. Not only that, but Anus showed he was pretty good on the catwalk.
“In fact many in the crowd who recognised him were in no doubt that he should be given a special award for his charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.
“Or at least I think that’s what the acronym they kept shouting meant,” the strategist said.
