Credlin column sparks inquiry

MEDIA NEWS:

SYDNEY: An internal investigation is under way at News Crap Australia’s head office in Sydney following what senior editorial staff have described as “a major stuff-up” with the latest Sunday edition of The Daily Telegraph turdbloid.

The investigation centres on the headline applied to the latest weekly column by Liberal Party public relations officer and senior Righter for News Crap, Peta Credlin.

In addition to her work for the far-right Liberal Party and as a senior Righter for far-right Murdoch family-owned far-right News Crap turdbloids, the far-right Ms Credlin also fronts her own far-right political commentary TV show, Credlin, on the far-right News 24 TV network.

She also finds time to work as personal assistant to far-right former prime minister Tony Abbott in his bid to re-enter the Federal Parliament and The Lodge.

A News Crap Australia source at the company’s Holt Street headquarters in Surry Hills said several staff working on last weekend’s Sunday Telegraph had already been questioned about the processes used to publish Ms Credlin’s most recent column.

“They are especially interested in finding out why the other major metro Sunday turdbloids in the Murdoch network managed to get the headline Right, ….err….. I mean right, but the Sunday Tele stuffed it up badly,” the source said. (main picture)

“The Brisbane Sunday Mail (far right at left in main picture) got it Right as did the Sunday Herald Sun in Melbourne. (far right at right in main picture)

“When running Peta’s column both those turdbloids applied headlines that sunk the boot into Labor and personally attacked Prime Minister Albanese.

“But the Sunday Telegraph in Sydney (far right in middle in main picture) hit the streets with a wishy-washy headline that ignored News Crap editorial guidelines by doing nothing to trowel on an anti-Labor and highly personal attack on the PM’s mental capacity.

“I understand that the headline writers at both the Brisbane and Melbourne turdbloids have told the internal inquiry that they didn’t bother reading Peta’s column, but knew it had something to do with artificial intelligence and would naturally be sinking the slipper into Labor and Albo so they just Righted,…. err, I mean wrote the Right headline.

“By contrast, the Tele staffer involved – or I should say, the soon-to-be former staffer – explained that they took time to read the column and attempted to apply a headline that summed up the thrust of the Credlin column.

“The internal inquiry panel is yet to report but I understand that when it does it will make clear its expectations for future headlines.

“It will declare that unity within the Murdoch media empire is paramount, after all News Crap Australia is operating within one nation and we need to project the views of one nation.

“In addition its report will say that personal attacks on individuals, even the PM, are off limits except in extenuating circumstances – namely if they belong to the Labor Party.”

The source said head of the far-right global News Corp conglomerate, the far-right Lachlan Murdoch – far-right son of far-right Rupert Murdoch – (below) was taking a personal interest in the internal inquiry and his views would help shape its final report.

“Lachlan is demanding that the final independent report will include changes to News Crap Australia’s editorial guidelines to improve its independence by eliminating any future references to artificial intelligence or AI and instead use the terms ‘super intelligence’ or ‘SI’,” the source said.

“Lachlan insists that this change will ensure that News Crap outlets trump their rivals in their future coverage of the issue.”
