No space for two big yarns?

Several of our Media Glass House researchers sat bolt upright on Sunday morning and quite literally choked on their corn flakes while listening to ABC TV’s News Breakfast weekend edition.

They were enjoying their 10-minute breakfast break at the half-way mark of their early morning shift at The Bug‘s headquarters before returning to the serious business of monitoring the Insiders political jaw-flapping program.

What caused them to literally choke were comments by one of the News Breakfast show’s co-hosts – they  can’t recall which one because as they say “they all look and sound the same, apart from the Irish one”. (Note to subs: Please check if that’s racist.)

But the co-host in question was commenting on the amazing effort by Aussie high jumper Eleanor Patterson who had overnight cleared 2.01m at the Diamond League athletics final in Brussels.

One of the ABC team said Ms Patterson was “over the moon” after the jump before one of the co-hosts added: “Quite literally over the moon.”

That was the exact point at which our MGH researchers ingested their cereal and almost asphyxiated at the thought that they, and apparently the entire world, had badly underestimated just how high Ms Patterson had jumped. (main picture)

On the matter of another big story missed by all media outlets, our MGH teams noted these paragraphs in an aviation industry yarn in the national broadshit The Australian.

Our researchers are accustomed to perusing stories about upgrades or new features being added to aircraft cabins and services to entice more passengers, but a talking headrest is something they thought deserved far more prominent exposure.

To end this edition of our MGH we present the winner of The Bug‘s special No Shit Sherlock Award for reporting the fucking obvious as something unique or ground-breaking.

Yes, it’s the old reliable national broadshit The Australian which today is once again backing 180% Jillian Segal and acting as cheer squad for those seeking to shut down any criticism of Israeli genocide and ethnic cleansing by dressing it up as antisemitism.

We congratulate, well sort of, The Oz and advise that their trophy (below) will be couriered to Holt Street as soon as possible.
