Trump caps off solemn ceremonies

WASHINGTON DC: US President Donald Trump has reacted to claims that he has politicised the solemn ceremonies at which he as Commander in Chief welcomes back to American soil the bodies of military personnel killed in the war with Iran.

At a previous ceremony known as a dignified return, Mr Trump drew flak for wearing a white baseball cap embossed with the letters “USA” in gold which is sold through his Make American Great Again website. (below)

The President was also criticised for not removing the cap during the ceremony.

White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, (below) said the President had now “responded appropriately” to the criticism.

“At future dignified returns the President will sport a tasteful cap in funereal black and featuring the heartfelt sentiment ‘Make American Grieve Again’,” Ms Leavitt said.

“These new caps are one of the first items to be offered for sale through the President’s Make America Great Again website under a newly created ‘S&L’ merchandising page.

“The S&L – or Suckers and Losers – section of the website will also enable the families of deceased servicemen and women, but definitely not trans, to buy special MAGA military caskets to transport the remains of their loved ones back to American soil. (main picture)

“The President as Commander in Chief has ordered that all dignified transfers must be made using the new caskets which retail at around $25,000.

“If any arrive in any other unmarked casket they will be intercepted by ICE agents at the relevant Air Force base and returned to Iran until their families see sense.

“The President is sure that the families of deceased service personnel will want to give their loved ones only the best when it comes to their dignified return.

“He reminds them that they can pay for the new merchandise on his website using credit cards, bank transfers, PayPal, or cryptocurrency,” Ms Leavitt said.
