WASHINGTON DC: US President Donald Trump has backed his press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s statements blaming Democrats and other opponents of his administration for the heightened level of political violence in the United States.

In the wake of the weekend shooting incident at the Washington Hilton, Ms Leavitt (below) told a White House press pool briefing that Democrats and others had generated a “cult of hatred” against the President.

“You lice-riddled vermin in the lamestream media, you lying peddlers of fake news who should all be exterminated post-haste with extreme violence are to blame for doing the dirty work of the traitorous terrorist Democrats, all of whom should also fall victim to our beloved Second Amendment right as soon as possible by being shot on sight,” she said.

“We can guarantee no questions will be asked if that happens. Presidential pardons will be given.”

Mr Trump then joined the news conference to spruik his proposed Donald J Trumphal Arch in the middle of the nation’s capital and agreed with Ms Leavitt.

“Yes, Democrats are to blame for the weekend shooting, for the high cost of living, the war in Iran, and all that is wrong with our great nation,” he said.

“We should march on the Capitol – I’ll be there with you – exterminate all Democrats in time for the mid-term elections and certainly before November 2028, take back our country, drain the swamp, and Make America Great Again.”

Mr Trump vehemently rejected suggestions by reporters that he and his decades-long record of inflammatory rhetoric were to blame for the fragile state of US politics.

“That’s just fake news. You should be ashamed of yourself for asking that disrespectful question, in fact any question,” he said before adding: “Shut up, shut up piggy.”

Mr Trump said the weekend shooting highlighted the urgent need to build his Donald J Trumphal Arch.

“Just like the Donald J Trump Ballroom here at the soon-to-be-renamed Donald J Trump Gold House, this new arch is badly needed,” he said.

“If we are to be a nation that respects law and order and respects our justice system, we need this arch.

“The sooner it’s built, the sooner we can use it to publicly execute without a wasteful trial all Democrats and other perpetrators of violence, those in the fake media, and any others I don’t pardon for breaking the law, any law.”

Reporters then pointed out that the graphic the President was using to make his point (main picture) included an “offender” who looked a lot like California’s Democrat Governor, Gavin Newsom.

“Well spotted,” the President replied before Ms Leavitt intervened, drew a Glock pistol and aimed its red laser beam targeting sight at various reporters who scrambled to exit the briefing room.
