The judges of The Bug’s most uncoveted monthly media award – The Media Glass House’s Arselicker-of-the-Month – has made an impassioned plea for scribes to put in a late entry for April unglory.

The Bug’s ALOTM prize barrel hasn’t had an entry plopped into it for a week now and the judges can appreciate that journos everywhere could be shaking their heads and asking: “why bother?” in view of recent entries from two of The Australian’s finest righters (at top and below) Chris Mitchell and Henry Ergas.

One of our judges said: “Look, with just less than a week to go, we all accept April non-glory is now realistically firmly between Mitchell and Ergas and both have every reason to be confident, with eager, anticipatory, hands on the Janet Albrechtsen trophy.

“But, please, never say die! And of course bribes are always an option and have worked wonders over the years.”
