Tele luminary named top Aussie

One of News Crap Australia’s political commentators has been named as The Bug’s Australian of the Year for 2021.

James Morrow, federal political editor for the Sydney turdbloid The Daily Telegraph and co-host of the Outsiders discussion program on Sky News Australia, accepted the award at a ceremony at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre last night. (main picture)

Mr Morrow said he was proud and humbled by the award and gave full credit to Prime Minister Scott Morrison and News Crap head Rupert Murdoch.

“It is those two visionary, honest, sincere, and trustworthy individuals who inspire me,” a clearly emotional Mr Morrow told the audience at the ceremony. “It is them and those qualities that I try to emulate in my work every day.”

His win was announced by the chair of the judging panel, The Bug’s finance and investment columnist, Morrie Bezzle, via video link from the Arthur Gorrie Remand Centre west of Brisbane.

Mr Bezzle revealed that Mr Morrow’s body of work helped him secure the award.

“And what a beaut body of work it is too,” Mr Bezzle said in the few minutes prison authorities allowed him to make the announcement.

“Jimmy has been a consistent voice rightly – and I mean rightly – backing the government of our great wartime leader and Father of Our Nation, Scotty Morrison.

“The judges were impressed by the top-notch stories that Jimmy produced for the Tele and on Sky that gave some balance to the stream of lefty, commo bullshit, and so-called ‘facts’ pumped out by the likes of the ABC and The Guardian Australia.

“For instances his was pretty much a lone voice back in March last year when Jimmy’s extensive and dare I say, forensic, research revealed the left-wing web trying to take down former attorney-general Christian Porter. (pictured)

“It was Jimmy Morrow alone whose hard work revealed key facts about the linkages among the main accusers of Mr Porter such as the fact that both Anthony Albanese and Tanya Plibersek were in the same Labor Party caucus in Canberra.

“Jimmy’s was also pretty much a lone voice lauding the 2021 Federal Budget not once, but twice in the same edition of the Tele back in May last year. (pictured)

“Jimmy Morrow also exclusively revealed that Labor Leader Anthony Albanese’s budget reply speech was blatantly plagiarised from one given by former US President Ronald Reagan. (pictured)

“From memory I think the cut-and-dried evidence was that both leaders had spoken in English.

“But his crowning achievement was a piece he penned with a bit of help from a Daily Tele colleague that rated the performance of the Morrison Government over 2021 and gave the PM a well-deserved ‘A’ and most his team the same or at least a ‘B’ or ‘B-plus’. (pictured)

“I usually don’t reveal how the judges came to their decision but on this occasion I can say the decision was, quite rightly, unanimous.

“I reckon I’m safe in saying there’s nobody in Australian journalism today, or maybe ever, who has brought such unique skills and insight to their work,” Mr Bezzle concluded.

Mr Bezzle is on remand for offences relating to what Australian Federal Police, the ACCC, and  Queensland’s Office of Fair Trading have described as a “blatant online scam” that involved sending emails to random consumers in the African nation of Nigeria in which he claimed to be an Australian prince  and asking them to deposit funds in his bank account in return for a share of a huge inheritance.
