When The Bug read Chris Jones’s editorial in Friday’s edition of The Courier-Mail we were deadset rolling around on the floor laughing.
“This guy’s a natural,” we all declared in unison. If Chris were ever to leave the Brisbane daily – sorry, the conservative politics public relations firm – he would one day rival the likes of Jimeon, Dave Hughes and Carl Barron, we declared.
So we asked our good friends up at the Twelfth Night Theatre just across the way from the Courier-Mail’s Bowen Hills office to reopen for the one night under strict COVID-19 distancing rules.
We packed the venue with the carefully screened audience from the Courier-Mail/SkyNews leaders’ debate the other night and begged Chris to give it a try.
“I could write some new material,” he told us but we said: “No, mate, just go with that editorial. You’ll knock ’em dead!”
