SYDNEY: ABC 7.30 presenter Leigh Sales is recovering well in a near-city hospital after surgery to remove what specialists described off the record as “a burr under her saddle”.
ABC chair Ita Buttrose was the first to wonder if Ms Sales was suffering from the painful condition after watching her testy and at times heated and combatative interviews with Treasurer Josh Frydenberg on Tuesday might and then Prime Minister Scott Morrison the following night.
She demanded that Ms Sales be checked out, scans detected the suspected irritant and the resultant operation went well despite the burr being one of the largest and sharpest medical specialists had ever encountered.
Ms Sales will be back in the 7.30 chair on Monday night being her far more composed self, although she is still expected to say “I’m sorry to interrupt you here” quite a lot, and mostly with Labor spokespeople.
MELBOURNE: ABC Insiders presenter David Speers has been sent for urgent Specsavers and Hearing Australia tests after he claimed that US vice president Mike Spence won his debate against Democrat rival Kamala Harris.
