The federal Liberal Party has been swamped with nominations from a number of high-calibre candidates seeking to represent the party at the upcoming Eden-Monaro by-election.
The fierce pre-selection stoush that this excellent field will obviously spark suggests the Morrison government is confident of creating history by taking the seat off the Opposition for the first time in more than a century.
The Bug understands the potential candidates include:
Milo Kerrigan, retired professional boxer, now living in Queanbeyan.

Constance Andrews, farm girl, from just outside Bega.
