ENTERTAINMENT:
How does The Bug keep unearthing all this fresh and emerging standup talent?
Well, it’s not easy but you’ve just got to keep a keen lookout. Which is how we discovered an amazing prospect in young Eliza Barr, a News Corp journalist who just happens to work in the Sutherland Shire, Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s home turf.
The Bug this week stumbled across a little Twitter war that Eliza was having – largely with herself but that’s not important right now – about the difference between a couple of Pentecostal churches in Sydney and which one our happy-clapping PM belonged to.
Why? We have no fucking idea but her material was hilarious, so we approached Eliza and she agreed to perform it live at a local licensed venue we booked on her behalf.
Apart from a few lines we suggested about entry to a Hillsong event, almost the entire set is all her own work, believe it or not.
SO PLEASE WELCOME TO THE STAGE FOR HER DEBUT PERFORMANCE …. ELIZA BARR!
ELIZA …. YOU’RE GOING TO GO FAR!
