Shock new photos have surfaced, revealing yesterday’s stand by media publishers across the nation might not have been quite as “united” at first thought over press freedom and protection for whistleblowers.
Major metropolitan mastheads on Monday morning across rival publishers all printed heavily redacted front pages calling for an end to government attempts to curtail journalists’ work and the rights of citizens to know what those governments are doing.
All the pages had the endline: “When governments keep the truth from you, what are they covering up?
But The Bug has obtained images (one shown at top) of Newscorp journalists protesting outside their Holt Street building in Sydney that suggest the protections they are demanding might be slightly different from what colleagues, say, at the ABC or the Nine mastheads, are fighting for.
“It’s all much of a muchness,” Andrew Bolt told The Bug. “The media must be free to do what needs to be done to keep Australian safe and secure and only an unencumbered, untrammelled media can achieve that.”
“Newscorp controls 70 per cent of the nation’s print media which means each and every day, we have hundreds and hundreds of pages to fill. And how can we do that if the government keeps stuff to itself?
“There’s only so much anti-Labor and anti-union shit we can make up ourselves.”
His comments were fully endorsed by an ethically bereft, flaccid arsed, scrawny, increasingly senile and totally self-interested, ruthless, money-hungry octogenarian cunt in New York.
“Without even having to say anything, I’m sure the signs that they were holding were worded exactly the way I wanted them to be,” the ethically bereft, flaccid arsed, scrawny, increasingly senile and totally self-interested, ruthless, money-hungry octogenarian cunt said.
