Hugh a huge overnight success!

The Bug over the past year has showcased up-and-comers who we believe will one day give the likes of Jimeon, Dave Hughes, Wil Anderson and Judith Lucy a run for their money. What can we say? We really believe we have an eye for such raw and untapped talent.

Many have come from professions well away from the glare of the stand-up spotlight and our latest offering is no exception. So when we read Channel 10 Eye Witness News’ Hugh Riminton’s essay on 10’s online site about how Scott Morrison could turn out to be one of our great PMs, we pissed ourselves and simply had to ring and tell him material like this must not be wasted.

He agreed and we booked the Rooty Hill RSL for his debut performance last night. The Bug admits it might have written some finishing-up lines that had him coming home with a wet sail and the crowd in his thrall but the great bulk of his act is his own work, of which he should be very proud.
