Today I can report exclusively for the reader of The Bug that federal One Nation MP, Barnaby Joyce, has inked a deal to take the lead role in a long-awaited sequel to the hit 2006 Aussie comedy film Kenny.

I can also reveal that it was the star of the original, Shane Jacobson, who put forward the former deputy PM and former National Party leader’s name for the title role.

The original movie starred Jacobson as Melbourne plumber Kenny Smyth (below) and was shot as a “mockumentary” that followed Kenny in his daily work for a portable toilet hire company.

The remake has already started shooting (main picture) and Jacobson himself, who has visited the set on location in a Melbourne suburb, says the film – to be titled either Kenny II or possibly Kenny: Part Poo – is bound to be an even bigger hit than the original.

“As soon as the producers rang me to say they doing a sequel to Kenny, I told them I would not take on the role again because there was only one person who should and could do it, and that’s Barnaby Joyce,” Jacobson told me.

“I’m in awe of Barnaby’s natural talent in handling shit. Since he swapped to One Nation that’s all he’s done.

“Every time some fucknuckle in One Nation – and by my estimate that’s about 95% of them – starts a shit fight, then Pauline Hanson sends in Barnaby to mop it up.

“So he’s got real practical experience which he brings to the role of Kenny.

“Off the set he was at it again yesterday, mopping up the wall-to-wall shit that followed the story about the personal behaviour of One Nation’s Victorian campaign leader, Warren Pickering.

“If anyone knows how to try to plug shit volcanoes, it’s Barnaby and he’s very good at it.

“Take for instance his appearance last night on ABC TV’s 7.30 program where he tried to explain the shit show that’s One Nation’s superannuation policy.

“It was another master class in how to deal with a non-stop tsunami of shit, especially the part where Barnaby sidetracked Sarah Ferguson by yelling at his dog to shut up. (below)

“Only he could get away with that, after all he was in the ABC’s Parliament House studio in Canberra at the time and his dog was fast asleep back home at the farm in New England, just like it was the first time he pulled that stunt,” Jacobson said.
