The column that has fun with the smaller mistakes and missteps of Australia’s mainstream mediocre; that pays homage to those sweet little fishes that individually don’t amount to a full meal but collectively can cause a tummy upset over the overall state of the once great and noble craft of journalism in this country.

Will the ABC’s Asia/Pacific reporter Stephen Dziedzic be shown the door at the ABC after an embarrassing performance on Weekend News this morning when he came across far too professionally for anyone in the nation’s current mainstream mediocre.

“He’ll get booted for this for sure,” one of the oldest and most bittered (subs, please check if that’s okay) MB compilers said as his weekend crew gathered around the beer fridge just after 7am this morning.

He was referring to Dziedzic’s decision – be it brave or crazy or both – to call the United States Secretary of War the United States Secretary of War.

“That’s what Seth Pisshead started calling himself a long time ago and it’s also on his stationery and office door but Australia’s right-wing media reason has kept using his old title, Secretary of Defense, or the Australian version, Secretary of Defence.

“That’s all designed to protect the US from coming across as the war-mongering, bomb-dropping, genocide-enabling, moron-president-electing cunts they are and clearly wanted to be known as. This is maybe the first time we’ve seen an Australian journalist using Pisshead’s real title.”

Another compiler added: “I think he’s a very good reporter but what on earth was he thinking! I don’t expect him to last the day.”
