Comic turn a bolt out of the blue!

Have I got great news for all you BUGgers out there who’ve always got a great laugh out of reading an Andrew Bolt column in one of Rupert’s rotten rags or indeed watching him on Sky LNPNews, before or after dark.

I was contacted by several of the biggest names in Australian stand-up some days back and, knowing I knew Bolt fairly well although admittedly we’re not what you would call close friends, they pleaded with me to try to convince Australia’s most popular newspaper columnist to try his own hand at stand-up.

And why the request from the likes of Jimeon, Wil Anderson, Tom Gleeson and Angus Taylor? They had all just read an Andrew Bolt column on the outcome of the Farrer by-election and I’ve got to admit it was as funny as all get out.

Dead set. I almost pissed myself from the get go, and that was after only a quick squiz at the image above that my comedy mates sent me.

Pauline Hanson’s One Nation a party of Australia’s working class! And a result in Farrer that humiliated the left! Like the left-leaning Liberals getting trashed and losing maybe the last jewel in their crown, federal electorate wise! And One Nation taking votes from Labor who didn’t run a candidate!

So I slipped on some super-strength kimbies for added protection and read Bolt’s entire analysis. Fuck me roan! There’s enough there for a stellar stand-up performance with possibly two intermissions.

So what comes next? The Bug is going to book a reasonably sized venue at a Melbourne watering hole after we do what we need to do and convince Bolt to give us a look at that we believe he is capable of.

I’ll let you all know of the date, venue and time for what I’m guessing will be the funniest time any of you BUGgers have ever had!
