God has criticised US President Joe Biden for invoking her name in his efforts to remain the Democratic Party’s candidate for the November presidential election despite his disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump last week.

In an interview with George Stephanopoulos of American ABC News which Mr Biden conducted largely facing the opposite direction while wearing a nightcap and fluffy slippers (main picture) the President declared: “If the Lord Almighty came down and said, ‘Joe, get out of the race,’ I’d get out of the race.”

He then told a nearby bookcase: “The Lord Almighty’s not coming down.”

Following the first face-to-back-of-the-head interview the President has undertaken since the debate, God (below) said she took exception to Mr Biden’s comments on several grounds.

“For starters, how dare he assume I’m a bloke and use the word ‘Lord’. That’s just sexist,” she said. “Is it so hard to say ‘Lady Almighty’?

“Second, like any independent observer of global politics I have actually been saying for some time now: ‘Joe get out of the race’.

“But he doesn’t seem to be listening, perhaps because he is hard of hearing which is understandable at his advanced age.

“Third, he says in his own misogynistic way ‘the Lord’s not coming’. Well I’ve got news for him.

“I can’t give details because of issues of confidentiality, but if anyone is worried about Mr Biden lasting a full second term if re-elected, I can confirm that my forward travel diary does have a personal visit to him pencilled in not too many months after  January next year,” God said.
