Biden becomes Barron’s back-up

US President Joe Biden will stand in for Donald Trump if the ex-President is unable to attend his son Barron’s high school graduation due to a requirement to appear in a New York courtroom.

Speaking during a visit to the White House (main picture) Barron Trump said he had accepted Mr Biden’s offer to attend the event along with his wife Jill.

It is not yet known if Judge Juan Merchan will allow Mr Trump to attend the 17 May graduation by absenting himself from his trial in the Manhattan Criminal Court on 34 charges of allegedly falsifying business records to cover-up a hush-money payment to former porn star Stormy Daniels.

“I’m very happy that Uncle Joe and Aunty Dr Jill, as they have asked me to call them, will attend my graduation if my dad can’t,” Barron said.

“Uncle Joe was very keen on the idea, even though he did keep calling me Chelsea and kept asking after Bill and Hillary.

“I had hoped dad would be at my graduation, but as he told me he may have to scale back his family commitments because he is doing important work to make America great again by appearing in court in that case about paying off a porn star he supposedly slept with behind mom’s back.

“Then he has other important work to do by defending those conspiracy charges relating to his efforts to make America great again by instigating the Capitol riots to overturn the 2020 election results and destroying democracy and our Constitution.

“Plus he has important work fighting the charges of criminal conspiracy over the Georgia election results, and then there’s the charges about keeping and mishandling classified documents to help make America great again.

“So I understand my dad is going to be pretty busy while Uncle Joe says he has plenty of time to fly to Florida and attend my graduation if needed.

“I’m looking forward to his visit, although I still need to get back to him to answer his question about the location of any Miami speakeasies where we might skirt prohibition and enjoy a celebratory drink after the ceremony.

“He did say if all else fails he would ring President Batista to see if we could scoot over to Havana and have a bit of a knees-up at one of its casinos.

“I told him I’m still a kid and I’m not sure I’d be allowed to drink but he said he had already checked with Ernest Hemingway and it’d be no problem,” Barron said.
