2024 BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL ELECTIONS:
Of the various pisstakes by The Bug over the years over the LNP Queensland’s shameless, underhand, unethical, politically morally corrupt, takeover of the Brisbane City Council’s intellectual property – its cleat design of alternate yellow and blue rectangular blocks down the left-hand-side of official council material – the one we’re highlighting here on 2024 election day is probably our favourite.
Posted back in March 2020, it used a pretty basic satirical device – the reversal of reality – to make its point. Namely, what if the City Council finally accepted defeat and promised to stop using a design now owned lock stock and barrel by LNP Qld?
This one.

What if they came up with a totally new – if rather bizarre – cleat that couldn’t possibly look anything more unlike the old one? And how might a certain sitting LNP city councillor react to such events?
Enjoy. Although we expect Central Ward councillor Vicki Howard didn’t see the humour in it at the time. Rather immodestly, we at The Bug laughed our heads off!
