Our Xcreta-of-the-Week judges are hoping you BUGers out there don’t mind if this week’s compilation concentrates on late-breaking news – the decision by Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to quit politics.
They were particularly keen to display what’s in store for whoever becomes Premier, and for that reason they’ve selected Kassa Boots (at top and below) as this week’s winner.

All we’ll say is that if the new state leader thinks they are going to get a fair run from the state’s unofficial opposition coalition parties – News Queensland (The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail) and the Nine Network’s Brisbane newsroom, they’ve got another think coming.
To reinforce that by looking back at how the media treated Palaszczuk, a close runner-up for this week’s top Xcrement came from Catherine a prole still needing etc etc (below).

For younger BUGers who might not remember this, this is how The Courier-Mail shot its front-page bolt after Scummo Morrison’s “miracle” win in 2019 and extrapolated the federal results in Queensland and what that paper hoped and prayed meant for Palaszczuk’s second-term government.
How’s that for a fair and objective newspaper that takes seriously its commitment to professional, quality, journalism of the highest order! (You are all welcome here to insert loud and sustained canned laughter or blow claxon horns or vuvuzelas if you’ve got them).
Palaszczuk went on to win a four-year term in 2020.
Phillip Riley also reflected on the amazing wins Palaszczuk achieved despite the Murdochracy’s “daily hate campaign” and bradpsychology took much the same line, while Peter Murphy praised the three Labor “Covid” premiers.

We should never forget that Morrison, backed by most of the mainstream mediocre, originally wanted to let Covid rip and that we should all learn to live and let die with it for the sake of business.
And on that subject, let’s hear finally from Dan Fangirl

Now, let’s look at an issue that shows that Peter Dutton and the Opposition’s line of attack has really gone to the dogs. Let’s hear all about Totogate from Margie Jones in conversation with Joe2: Woke & proud of it, JayJay and John.

And seeing Insiders got a mention above, let’s finish with another burning issue raised by Insiders host David Speers – just exactly how naughty was Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus in responding to a SkyNews ‘journalist’ over the High Court refugee decision.
Here are Sahar Adatia, Carole Lee and Vince O’Grady on that!

The Bug will end with its own basic comment: whether Dreyfus offered an apology to that Sky”News” faux journalist on his own bat or PM Albanese made him do it, it was simply WRONG! The Bug wouldn’t give Sky”News” the time of day let alone give the likes of Peta Credlin the chance to crow that her colleague was indeed unfairly treated. She wasn’t.
