A vote more important than a life!

Australia’s premier mememaster arthur norman @skulled1 has saluted The Bug‘s tweet-of-the-week judges before and he does again with this savage effort (above and below).

Our judges reckon his take on Kathryn Campbell’s evidence at the Royal Commission into RoboDebt – the illegal scheme that the Morrison government introduced to hound people to their deaths for the sake of some votes showing how tough it was – is about the most cruel meme he’s come up with to date.

Perhaps the only crueller thing was that played on the poor folk who followed Campbell’s evidence and that of Catherine (no relation) Halbert that followed. Any more evidence like what those two sadsacks offered and any general respect for the Australian public service could be lost forever.

Now to our main theme of this week’s entries – the second Danslide in Victoria in four years and much derision and mirth over the mainstream media proving once again what a toothless tiger it is when trying to sway the voting public to its LNP view.

Rob White and PRGuy summed up the result and the MSM’s humiliation.

We also liked this swipe at 3AW’s Neil Mitchell who certainly played his part with his risible rightwing rubbish in swinging voters Premier Andrews’ way. Thanks Neil …. both love and loathe your work but forever grateful for the role you continue to play. Don’t you ever give up your day job!

Well done, Neil Mitchell Parody. Ouch!

Ash Leahy also had a lash. Yes, it was all too pure and delicious to handle, but with more than just a touch of remorse among old hands saddened to see the depths their craft of journalism has plunged.

bradpsychology had this historical take on things…

On other matters media, Tony Koch had this wonderful observation on the search for a new editor-in-chief at The Australian after Christopher Dore left the post to spend more time with his wandering hands.

On politics generally, Andy and Victoria tweeted these thoughts, the former on the state of federal politics; the latter musing over NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet thinking he was on a winner by lauding the jailing of the Harbour Bridge climate-change protester. Get set, folks, for a law-and-order NSW state election next March.

Here’s bradpsychology back, with an observation on Indonesia’s decision to ban bonking outside marriage. RIP Bali.

Eddy Jokovich combined the Victorian election with the mainstream medicore’s determination to bring down Harry and Megan, or as someone has named them, the Ginger and the Whinger. Fuck, we wish we’d thought of that!

On the suitability of January 26 as our national day, SlurryNewsAust had this interesting suggestion…

And why do we sometimes end this column with something from Ronni Salt? Is it because we love her so?
