One Nation MP, Barnaby Joyce, has defended the tactics he has been using in the current fuel crisis.
At a news conference outside a Canberra service station (main picture), the former deputy prime minister and National Party leader vehemently denied he was unnecessarily alarming Australians by putting politics ahead of sound public debate.
“As you all know I am the greatest retail politician in Australia’s history,” Mr Joyce told reporters.
“I think you also all recognise that when I was deputy PM I always put the Nationals’ … I mean the national interest ahead of party politics.
“I think people know that when it comes to discussing the current crisis I know exactly what I’m doing, I’m NO FUEL! ” he said while using a megaphone to emphasise his last point to passing motorists.
“I will continue doing what I’m doing and I can promise I won’t run OUT OF GAS!”
Mr Joyce excused himself as he ended the news conference, saying he needed to rush home for Sunday lunch with his family.
“I had better not miss lunch, especially since Vikki has bought what was probably a $1,000 ROAST,” he added via the megaphone.

MIAMI, FL: A Florida TV station has apologised to its viewers for wrongly describing video footage it aired in a news bulletin.
“When the footage went to air in the news bulletin viewers were forewarned of its confronting nature since it showed the result of a massive Israeli Defence Force missile strike on a civilian area of Tehran,” a spokesperson for station KCUF 12 said. (below)

“But it was actually very old dashcam footage sent to us by another driver of Tiger Woods doing a reverse park, so for that we apologise.”
