SA ELECTION:
SYDNEY: One of the co-directors of the federal Liberal Party, Peta Credlin, says the outcome of the South Australian election shows the party has made “a good start” on the plan devised by her and her fellow strategists to shift the party further to the right of the political spectrum.
At a celebration in Adelaide several hours after voting trends confirmed the re-election of the Labor Party government of Premier Peter Malinauskas, Ms Credlin told fellow party members that the SA branch of the Liberal Party was to be congratulated. (main picture)
“I am only sorry that my fellow co-directors of the federal Liberal Party cannot be here tonight to share in these celebrations of a remarkable outcome,” Ms Credlin said.
“But I know that they all share my elation. To be fair, they also share the credit for tonight’s result.
“Of course I’m talking about some of the nation’s greatest political minds – Andrew Bolt, Sharri Markson, Paul Murray, Janet Albrechtsen, Rowan Dean, Rita Panahi, Caleb Bond, and James Morrow. (below)

“Tonight’s results shows just what can happen when the Liberal Party and people like Ashton Hurn take the Right advice from the Right people like me and my colleagues.
“On their behalf I thank all South Australian voters for the verdict they have given on our strategy.
“As we saw at the federal election in May last year, when the Liberal Party listens to us, big things can happen,” Ms Credlin added to wild applause from the rank-and-file members in the room.
“From here we go on to the Victorian election in November and we look forward to another result that shows I and my fellow co-directors have the Right recipe for the Liberal Party,” she said.
