COMEDY STARS EMERGE!

BUG staff tasked with spotting future world-class standup comics wherever they may be and then helping to set them on their path to world stardom couldn’t believe their ears and their eyes when they caught three very funny European men trying out some new material just the other day.

It’s been hard over the decades to beg just one rising talent to give the stage-of-death a crack and then quickly hire a venue to share those emerging skills to a wider audience but how do you do the same with three men half a world away?

Especially when they have pretty important day jobs and we’re talking here about German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French president Emmanuel Macron and United Kingdom Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer,

But when we told them their joint statement on the US/Iran war was so, so, funny, as was individual comments they’ve made over recent days, they agreed to tape separately their performances that, through the miracle of AI, we have turned into a belly-shaking laughfest where they appear to be on the one stage and riffing back and forth among themselves.

And for an audience to gauge their potential? We booked the Princess Theatre in south Brisbane and last night a large crowd responded as we thought they would to this amazing, until now, untapped, comedy trio.
