CANBERRA: Foreign Minister Penny Wong has been rushed to hospital after apparently choking at a news conference called to give Australia’s response to the military attack on Iran by the US and Israel.
Reporters at the news conference said Ms Wong began as she usually did when discussing US and Israeli military actions in Gaza or elsewhere.
“The Foreign Minister usually starts by looking very serious, lowering her voice, and then reciting written remarks that go nowhere near holding President Trump or Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to account for whatever outrageous, deadly, and potentially illegal action they have taken,” one reporter said.
“But this time she soon began uttering not words but a sort of sickly sweet substance that looked a lot like fairy floss. (main picture)
“She very soon ended up not saying anything but continued responding to questions by offering up a stream of fluffy softball and saccharine material.
“Then suddenly she seemed to gag and choke on whatever it was she was emitting and collapsed. It was then an ambulance was called.”
Ms Wong was taken to Canberra Hospital but her condition at this stage is not known.

WASHINGTON DC: President Donald Trump says there is a simple reason for American and Israeli forces to attack Iran.
“It’s very simple. This attack is necessary to obliterate the Islamic nation’s nuclear capabilities that were obliterated six months ago by US ‘bunker busting’ bombs,” Mr Trump said in a seven-hour weave to the nation.
The President spent most of the rest of his speech lambasting the Norwegian Nobel Committee for not already having delivered to him a Peace Prize for the latest incursion in Iran.

TEL AVIV: Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, says there are lessons to be learned from the bombing of a girl’s school in southern Iran with the death of an estimated 80 children during the current military assault by the US and Israel.
“We need to do much better in our targeting during this current attack,” Mr Netanyahu said. (below)

“I mean 80 Islamic kids killed? Pffft. We’ve killed thousands, tens of thousands of them so far in Gaza. Triple that number are now amputees.
“Each day in the current ceasefire we manage to kill and maim even more, so there’s no excuse for this paltry effort in Iran.”
