In a world exclusive I can report that future Academy Awards presentations will feature an entirely new category following plans by US President Donald Trump to follow his wife’s cinematic efforts with her recently released “documentary” Melania.
My well-placed sources in Hollywood tell me that President Trump is in the final stages of editing a “fly on the wall” film (main picture) somewhat in the style of the First Lady’s effort which, in 104 minutes, follows her for the three weeks or so leading up to her husband’s 20 January 2025 inauguration.
But unlike Melania’s Melania the President’s film will consist entirely of extracts from famous “weave” speeches given by Trump at various events.

“The President, having starred in The Apprentice TV series some years ago, brings to this project a wealth of on-screen and behind-the-camera experience,” one source who did not wish to be named told me.
“He has taken a direct hand in picking the key speeches he wanted to include and he has also overseen the film’s editing.
“Some may think that a 510-minute film won’t attract an audience, but the President has been assured by his entire inner-circle – from Vice-President JD Vance down – that it will.
“JD and the others have even gone so far as to pen glowing reviews for use in what will be a barrage of pre-release publicity, although all of them are yet to actually see it.”
The President is guaranteed of success at the 2027 Academy Awards, according to one Hollywood insider who was not afraid to be identified.
“President Trump can clear a shelf in the Oval Office for a golden Oscar statuette,” said noted director and producer Alan Smithee who also serves on the governing board of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences which runs the annual Oscars ceremony.
Mr Smithee explained that to accommodate the new Trump film, the Academy had devised an entirely new award category.
“The Trump film is like nothing else ever before produced or screened,” he said. “It’s not a feature film, it’s not a short film by any means, and it’s not a traditional documentary but the Academy still needed to make sure it could be in consideration for an Oscar.
“To solve the problem we have devised a new docuntmentary category.
“We are pretty sure Trump’s effort will be the only entrant so, as I said, he should get ready to take home an Oscar at next year’s awards,” Mr Smithee said.
