CANBERRA: In a world exclusive, our federal parliamentary gallery team can report that the Labor Party’s national executive has commissioned internal polling requested by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to find ways of resolving the issue of the Australian ISIS brides and their children stuck in a Syrian camp and anxious to return to Australia.
The Bug understands that Mr Albanese, who has openly stated he has nothing but contempt for these women stranded in the Roj camp in north-east Syria, wrote to the national executive asking for them to canvass a basic question – would there be more votes in it than not if somehow it became legally possibly to take the group of 37 around the back of their hastily rebuilt refugee tents and lined up against a wall if they could find one.
“I think it’s worth a shot,” Albanese wrote. “We’ve got to get this Right.”
