Rinehart offers to end coalition crisis

Mining magnate Gina Rinehart has offered a solution to the political impasse confronting the former federal coalition parties.

Speaking by video to a meeting of the Perth chapter of Friends of Destroying the Earth (main picture) Ms Rinehart said the solution to the woes of the Liberal and National parties was both obvious and simple.

“It involves me buying both parties and running them,” she explained. “I pretty much run them both already, so really nothing much would change.

“I’ve already bought One Nation and I’m rich enough to afford a few more parties if I want them.

“So my offer is on the table if they want to take it. I think it’s a sensible solution.”

Ms Rinehart said her offer fitted neatly with her view of how politics should work.

“I have always believed and continue to believe that our political system needs to be run more along business lines,” she said.

“Ultimately I’d like to see more individuals like me and Clive Palmer owning political parties.

“That would lead to genuine free enterprise competition among parties.

“We could then compete with each other and establish a system under which we do away with wasteful and costly elections entirely.

“It would be much more efficient if we just called tenders for parties to form government.

“Of course many woke lefties will attack my idea as being anti-democratic.

“But nothing could be further from the truth because we’d also call tenders for the opposition too,” Ms Rinehart said.
