Today I can report exclusively that His Former Royal Highness the former Prince of York, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, has moved quickly to explain the very innocent explanation of supposedly “sensational” photos of him published as the result of the latest release of the so-called Epstein files.
As an experienced Royal Correspondent I can only lend my support to him as he attempts to defend his already badly – and may I add, unfairly – damaged reputation by undertaking a repeat of his very famous BBC Newsnight interview of November 2019.
I have been told by my very reliable Buckingham Palace sources that HFRHTFP Andrew has already sat down with the same interviewer, Ms Emily Maitlis, in yet another effort to clear his name which, to my mind, has been so unfairly sullied. (main picture)
Their original interview, may I also add, was assessed very unfairly at the time as a mistake on the part of the then Prince Andrew.
But my royal sources tell me that His Former Royal Highness’s latest interview, when it screens, should even up the ledger.
In the latest interview he delivers a complete and quite rational and believable explanation for the so-called compromising photo of him just released by the US Justice Department. (below)

My sources say the former Prince discloses to Ms Maitlis that he was photographed just as he was rendering first aid to a distressed young woman who had collapsed at Mr Epstein’s home.
Clearly, my royal sources say, the photo captures him just as he is bending over her in preparation for performing CPR and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
In my professional view as a Royal Correspondent, I cannot see any way someone could interpret the photo in any other manner, unless they were attempting to vindictively attack the former Prince.
I can only offer my congratulations and encouragement to His Former Royal Highness as he continues to attempt to clear his name.
Again, in my professional view, I believe if his repeat BBC interview works he should be in a strong position to have His Majesty King Charles III restore his titles and standing within the Royal Family, no sweat.
