Trump good with V-P’s remarks

WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump has been quizzed on the claims being made by him and others in his administration such as Vice-President JD Vance (main picture) attacking the character of Renee Nicole Good, the young woman shot dead by an ICE agent in Minneapolis.

Vice-President Vance said the shooting was justified and that Ms Good was a “victim of left-wing ideology” and her death was “a tragedy of her own making”.

He added that – despite video evidence to the contrary – the ICE officer had acted in self-defence.

At a White House event President Trump described the church-going mother of three as a “professional agitator” even in the absence of any evidence to justify the claim.

He responded to a question about “JD Vance’s Good comments” by launching into a 45-minute answer in which he agreed “they were good comments, weren’t they?” and then canvassed a wide range of issues as diverse as his pardons for the “heroes” of the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol, former President Franklin Roosevelt’s wheelchair, transgender women in sport, “Sleepy” Joe Biden’s theft of the 2020 election, trade tariffs, the purchase of a new Boeing plane for the Air Force One fleet, his YMCA dance moves, and other extraneous subjects.

Under further questioning the President denied he and his MAGA acolytes were defaulting to their usual tactic of putting their own spin on the character of a deceased individual regardless of the facts and cynically using the death of an individual to advance their far-right authoritarian agenda and to deflect from other negative issues, and then invariably totally forgetting about the person and their death once the media agenda had moved on.

When asked by a reporter if this approach of painting Ms Good as a far-left “domestic terrorist” was hypocritical given the response by the President and his MAGA followers to comments by some on the left of the political spectrum following the shooting death of Charlie Kirk last year, Mr Trump responded: “Charlie who?”
