Queensland Police say they have now identified how a Brisbane man sustained injuries in a series of falls at his home.
A Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokesperson said the man whose name has not been released was found unconscious by neighbours and rushed to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he was admitted for treatment for injuries including numerous broken bones and severe bruising apparently sustained in a number of falls.
“Police officers had to wait for the man to regain consciousness but when he did he was able to relate the series of events that led to his injuries and admission to hospital,” the spokesperson said.
“He told police that he was reading various news websites to catch up on recent events, particularly the US invasion of Venezuela.
“The first item he read was an item in which Democrats in the US Congress said the Trump administration had lied to them about their intentions in Venezuela before the invasion and capture of Nicola Maduro. (below)

“The man said you could have knocked him down with a feather after he read that – as if Trump or anyone in his government would mislead or lie about anything.
“Just then a feather floated through an open window and knocked him down. (QPS artist’s impression above)
He picked himself up and then read a story about Trump’s MAGA supporters such as Republican Senator Lindsey Graham backing the invasion of Venezuela. (below)

“The man said you could have knocked him down with a feather after he read that – as if someone with the integrity and independence of Senator Graham would say anything like that to cosy up to Trump or as if any MAGA supporter would blindly support the action.
“Just then another feather floated through an open window and knocked him down.
“Then he turned to an online item in which President Trump dismissed the opposition leader in Venezuela, Maria Corina Machado, as not having the ability to govern her nation despite her political track record and being nefariously disqualified from the last presidential election that Maduro stole. “The man said you could have knocked him down with a feather after he read that – as if Trump might be so petty, narcissistic, and vindictive as to use the invasion to score points against the woman who won the Nobel Peace Prize he coveted.
“Just then a feather floated through an open window and knocked him down.
“Then he started reading a story on The Australian‘s website unrelated to Venezuela about the new Mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdahni, who has been accused by a Jewish lobby group of being antisemitic because he scrapped the city’s use of a definition of antisemitism so wide that it casts as antisemitic just about any comment questioning anything the Israeli Government or Benjamin Netanyahu or the Israeli Defence Forces do such as their ongoing genocide in Gaza and the West Bank. (below)

“The man said you could have knocked him down with a feather after he read that – as if a news outlet, sorry … a News outlet such as our national broadshit would run a story on someone being antisemitic when they clearly aren’t.
“Just then yet another feather floated through an open window and knocked him down.
“Now that we know how the man sustained his injuries from the series of falls he experienced, police have advised him how to avoid a repeat of the incidents – mainly by suggesting he install insect screens on all his windows,” the QPS spokesperson said.
