CANBERRA: Opposition Leader, Ssussan Ley, says leadership is key to the nation’s response to the terrorist killings of innocent Jewish people at Bondi Beach.
“We must ensure that our response to the Bondi shootings is sensible, balanced, and timely,” a tearful Mss Ley said at a news conference at Parliament House.
“There is no room for politicising the loss of innocent lives, but a central element in this tragedy is leadership if we are to lower tensions in our society,” Mss Ley said while fighting back tears.
“When I talk about leadership I’m not talking only about the criminally deficient leadership shown by the murderous Prime Minister, Anthony Antisemitic Albanese, who should clearly be jailed and convicted without trial for having the blood of 15 people on his hands.
“I’m also talking about political leadership in general. Leadership of the opposition is just as important.
“Everyone, especially my own Liberal Party MPs need to remember that,” she said while also dabbing at her eyes with a handkerchief sprinkled with unpeeled onion juice as a safety backup.

SYDNEY: Lawyers have joined calls for a federal royal commission into the Bondi Beach shootings.
Speaking to a reporter from The Bug while attending the annual lawyers’ picnic in the Sydney Domain, spokesperson for the Australian Lawyers’ Association, Bill Ableours, (below) said the commission of inquiry proposed by the NSW government was “clearly not enough”.

“Speaking on behalf of the nation’s solicitors and barristers I can declare that we need a federal royal commission as well to guarantee that just us benefit from the shootings… I mean, that justice benefits,” he said.
Mr Ableours added that if The Bug wanted further comment, it would need to pay his hourly rate or part thereof.

MELBOURNE: The peak body for fruit and vegetable growers says Australian consumers will need to adjust their plans for Christmas lunches and dinners in the face of a sudden shortage of onions.
Spokesperson for the Australian Fresh Produce Alliance, Artie Choke, said it appeared the nation’s entire stock of fresh onions had been bought up since Sunday 14 December.
“Our feedback from fruit and vegetable retailers across the country shows the entire stock of onions has been bought up and not a single onion is left on a shelf anywhere for those seeking to buy some for Christmas catering,” Mr Choke said.
“While the shortage is nationwide, the mass buy-up of onions appears to have been concentrated in federal electorates held by the Liberal and National parties.”
