THE SCOURGE OF ANTI-SEMITISM:
One “simple act of contrition” from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese would go at least some way towards repairing his shattered image with not just the Australian Jewish community but all decent Australians.
That’s the simple message included in a joint statement released overnight by a number of Jewish peak bodies, including the Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ), The Australia/Israel and Jewish Affairs Council (AIJAC), the Zionist Federation of Australia (ZFA) and the Fiddler on the Roof Movie Fan Club (FOTFMFC).
“Is it any wonder that Australia’s most prominent anti-semite, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, was roundly booed, hissed and spat at and heckled at last night’s Bondi Beach vigil,” the joint ECAJ, AIJAC, ZFA and FOTFMFC communique said.
“No one has added more fuel to the ever-increasing flames of anti-semitism world-wide than Mr Albanese with his recent tragic, ill-informed and totally irresponsible support of a two-state solution in Greater Israel.
“Is it any wonder anti-semitic behavior has exploded in Australia since the PM gave succour and support to these sub-human terrorists squatting illegally in Gaza and The West Bank on what are the sacred, centuries-old traditional lands of the Greater Israel Jewish people?
“It’s true Mr Albanese has blood on his hands over last Sunday’s massacre at Bondi Beach as if he personally took part in the mass-murder shootings and one simple act of contrition – the reversal of his ridiculous two-state solution that no other country supports and flouts every aspect of international law is never going to happen anyway – might, just might, go some way to repairing his shattered image around this nation.
“But we doubt that very much,” the ECAJ, AIJAC, ZFA and FOTFMFC communique concluded. “He should resign immediately and Josh Frydenberg must be urged to stand in his vacated seat of Grayndler.
