WASHINGTON, DC: Members of the Kennedy family are understood to be satisfied with the response by Democratic Party lawmakers to President Donald Trump’s decision to add his name to the Kennedy Centre cultural complex celebrating the life of assassinated US President John F Kennedy.

President Trump recently hosted the 2025 Kennedy Centre Honours event at which he awarded himself all of the gold medallions for outstanding lifetime contributions to the American arts scene.

A source within the congressional Democratic Party told a member of The Bug‘s Washington bureau that the Kennedy family had been expected to publicly express outrage at the renaming of the Washington landmark.

“But before they made any comment, those of us on Capitol Hill met representatives of the Kennedy family to explain our plans to respond to Trump’s move,” the Democratic source said.

“I am pleased to say that our plans have been met with the family’s total approval and they are content to refrain from commenting at this stage.

“We explained to the family that both the concert hall and the opera house within the Kennedy Center … sorry, I should say Kennedy Centre for you Australians… can each hold almost 2,500 people.

“Our plan involves using space in one of those venues to build an exact replica of the famous Courtroom No. 600 at the Nuremberg Palace of Justice where former Nazi leaders were put on trial, with many sentenced to death, after the end of World War II. (below)

“There’s more than sufficient space to hold a Nuremberg-style trial of Donald Trump, his family, and other criminally corrupt MAGA cronies while still having plenty of seating for a public gallery.

“We see our plans being put into effect once Democrats regain control of Congress at the 2026 mid-term elections or after we gain control of Congress and the White House in the 2028 presidential election year.

“Either way we see the Kennedy Center…., err, Kennedy Centre… playing an important role in the restoration of American democracy and the Kennedy family is very happy with that plan,” the source said.
