WASHINGTON, DC: US President Donald Trump has stepped up his criticism of European nations while backing a directive to the State Department by his Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, to abandon the Calibri font. (below)

President Trump said the decision proved that he and his administration were providing the type of leadership Americans and the world expected after he was re-elected in 2024.
“Marco is doing the right thing by abandoning Calibri,” Mr Trump told a Make America Great Again rally in Turdsuck, Pennsylvania.
Sporting a number of Kennedy Centre Honours for the Performing Arts he awarded himself while hosting the annual event at the weekend, (main picture) Mr Trump said: “Calibri and other shithole nations in Europe that don’t pull their weight and rely too much on the United States are on notice.”
As the crowd gave him a standing ovation and chanted “USA!, USA!, USA!”, Mr Trump continued: “The same goes for European countries like Venezuela that condone drug running or others like Ukraine, that provoke war with their sneaky and provocative reverse invasions of peace-loving countries like Russia.”
He told the crowd that he agreed with Mr Rubio that the sans-serif issue was a key factor in the Secretary of State’s directive on Calibri.
“In fact right now I’m looking at imposing a sand tariff on other European countries too if they don’t behave themselves,” he added.
Mr Trump then diverted to US domestic politics by referencing the Democratic Party’s upset win in Miami, Florida where on Tuesday its candidate broke the traditionally Republican Party grip on the city’s mayoralty. (below)

“I’ll be sending the National Guard into Miami very, very soon,” he said.
“Miami is a crime-riddled hellhole and has been since about 10 o’clock on Tuesday night.”
