I know a lot of you BUGgers out there are not fans of the reality TV shows that regularly fill our free-to-air TV screens.

But I’m here to declare that you’ve made a big mistake if you thought the Nine Network’s Australian version of the Golden Bachelor was going to be just as stupid, lightweight and instantly forgettable as most of the others over recent years such as The Farmer Desperately Wants a Root, Divorced at First Slight, Why the Fuck Am I in This Shit; I Have Never, Ever, Been a Celebrity! and Big Why Bother.

My spies at the Nine Network say they are over the moon with viewership figures for the show that kicked off a few weeks back and they pleaded with me to devote a column that pumps up the show’s tyres even more.

And I’m more than happy to do so and I suspect many of you will change your minds and give this show a chance after I share with you some of the golden moments from the show so far!
