BRISBANE: One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has confirmed she spoke “very briefly” to US President Donald Trump while attending a far right-wing political conference at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida earlier this week.
Ms Hanson skipped parliamentary sittings in Canberra to attend the 2025 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) where she delivered a speech talking up President Trump’s far-right agenda while attacking the Albanese Government for its “socialist nightmare” policies.
The Queensland Senator was interviewed after landing back in Brisbane following her stay at Mar-a-Lago where she was seen at a Halloween party in company with noted far-right activist and mining mogul Gina Rinehart. (main picture)
Ms Hanson confirmed she had spoken to the President who did not attend all of the CPAC event.
“Yes, we did meet, but I must say he spoke to me only very briefly at the party,” Ms Hanson admitted.
“The President is a very busy man and there were so many people in the ballroom, so it’s not surprising he had very little time to talk to me or Gina.
“But he did walk past us on his way to his table and he did take a second to compliment us on our Halloween costumes, which was very nice of him even though neither of us was wearing one.
“I think I might have had a better chance to meet the President for a longer time if I had paid extra to buy a seat at a table in the roped-off ‘grabbable’ section of the ballroom where he was sitting,” Ms Hanson said.

SAN FRANCISCO: A glitch in confidential political polling has prompted former US Vice-President and failed presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, (below) to put on hold her plans to seek the Democratic Party’s nomination for the 2028 election.

During a current national tour promoting her book about her campaign experiences in 2024, Ms Harris had been floating the possibility of running for the White House again.
“Kamala has been basing her comments about running again on what she believed was positive internal Democratic Party polling showing strong voter approval for her across the US, especially in swing states she lost in 2024,” a party insider said.
“But unfortunately there was a significant problem with the polling. It seems potential voters were asked to rate the chances of them voting for 1970s Australian crooner Kamhal (below) instead of Kamala.

“We’re now going back to the drawing board and will conduct a fresh round of polling in all states.
“In the meantime we’re covering our bases by having constitutional lawyers check out whether we could run a singer from Down Under in 2028 when he’ll be just a few days shy of 94 on polling day,” the insider said.
