LONDON: Buckingham Palace will soon issue a follow-up statement to His Majesty King Charles III’s proclamation today stripping his younger brother of his royal title and stylings.

My Palace sources tell me that the updated statement, expected any moment now, will clarify exactly how Andrew is to be referred to in the future.

The King’s first statement said his brother would be known as “Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor”.

But my sources advise that there have been furious negotiations in the past few hours between His Majesty and Andrew who has insisted on retaining some reference to his status as the son of a monarch.

As a result of the talks, King Charles will issue a second statement declaring that Andrew will henceforth be known as “the Arsehole formerly known as Prince”.
