Netanyahu takes Trump at his word

THE MIDDLE EAST:

TEL AVIV: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has thanked the Trump White House for providing what he says is a watertight defence against claims he has promoted and overseen genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

Mr Netanyahu said his lawyers would today lodge documents with a range of judicial bodies including the International Criminal Court.

“These papers will rebut all allegations of genocide being pursued … I’m sorry, I’ll say that again. These papers will rebut all antisemitic allegations of genocide being pursued against me,” he said.

It is understood the documentations consist entirely of transcripts and screenshots of comments by US President Donald Trump and his press secretary Karoline Leavitt describing current demolition work on the East Wing of the White House to build a new ballroom as a “modernisation” of the building. President Trump posted on his Truth Social account at the weekend: “The East Wing is being fully modernised as part of this process, and will be more beautiful than ever when it is complete!”

Ms Leavitt has repeatedly referred to the demolition works as a “modernisation” of the East Wing.

Launching his new “Modernising Gaza” campaign (main picture) , Mr Netanyahu thanked Mr Trump and Ms Leavitt for providing inspiration for the initiative and a sure-fire defence against actions in the ICC and other bodies.

“I have searched for so long to find words to express what Israel has been doing in Gaza and the West Bank and thankfully President Trump and his White House staff have once again provided the right description, … I mean the Right description that perfectly fits the benign and sensitive operations we’ve been undertaking and will resume doing once I get all these antisemitic court cases out of the way and we put this pesky temporary and antisemitic ceasefire behind us.”

Meanwhile, an unnamed spokesperson for al-Qaeda said the militant Islamic terrorist group would also be seeking legal redress plus monetary damages for losses it suffered since the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers in New York City.

“We too have seen what the American infidel Trump and his cackling hyena Leavitt have said,” the spokesperson said.

“We will be using all judicial forums available to us to seek compensation for us and the family of our late great leader, Osama Bin Laden.

“We have a strong case. After all, all we did was modernise the World Trade Centre,” the spokesperson said.
