Trump explains East Wing demolition ‘glitch’

WASHINGTON, DC: US President Donald Trump says a “tiny, tiny glitch” in demolition work on the East Wing of the White House will not derail his plans for a massive new ballroom on the site.

At a news conference in the Oval Office, President Trump showed off artist’s impressions of the new ballroom as well as his new gold-plated hair (main picture) while explaining a delay experienced yesterday in demolition work on the site.

“Yesterday we had a tiny, tiny glitch when someone – I don’t know who – issued instructions that resulted in a nearby building being knocked down even though it’s not related to the new ballroom,” Mr Trump said.

“As the world’s greatest property developer I know these little problems sometimes happen.

“It was an innocent mistake. It’s nobody’s fault really, so we just carry on.

“I can assure you that this insignificant little error will not delay the East Wing’s demolition to any great degree.

“My new ballroom will be more than ready for my 2028 inauguration and the one or two after that as well,” he said.

Under questioning Mr Trump explained that the unrelated building he said had been demolished by mistake was the US Supreme Court close to the US Capitol. (below)

“Yes, I can confirm that, yes, it was that particular building,” he said.

“But it was, as I said, an innocent mistake. Let’s not waste time on a witch-hunt to find out who’s responsible.

“It was an easy mistake to make. The East Wing and the Supreme Court are so close to each other that it was almost inevitable that such an error could happen,” the President said.”

When reporters queried that description of the two buildings almost 3kms apart President Trump said they were “nasty questions by nasty fake news reporters” as his press secretary Karoline Leavitt wielded her electric cattle prod to force reporters from the room.
