It’s rarely happened but a media story we ran in Mediocre Bytes yesterday (link at bottom) has been sensationally upgraded to Media Glass House status! Obviously!
And the bitter, washed-up, old hacks who compile both columns voted unanimously this morning – 21 to nil by a show of glasses – that yesterday’s fuck-up by 9Now had earned this “totally warranted” upgrade, as their motion put it.
And what has caused their excitement that led to a sustained round of mocking applause for 9Now’s incompetence? It’s this ….

… and then this!

Poor Mia Gover…. or is that Kate Collins?
That’s right, BUGgers. The pisstake we took yesterday was that 9Now’s Nine News Queensland links all give the network’s Adelaide news team a big plug! Poor Mia, Poor Melissa Downes, poor Joel Dry, poor Lilly the Pink the Pink Greer, poor Garry Youngberry, poor Tim Arvier if he had still been there, etc, etc.

One of central things both of these columns have remarked on over the years is how long it often takes to fix online mistakes! It’s like they don’t really care? Who ever said the rhetorical question as a literary device is dead! Our column compilers kept checking during the day and night to see if or when this would all be rectified.
Our compilers tossed and turned all night with worry but when they convened this morning next to Bundy, their drinks fridge, the silly bastards really thought things would have been set right! That whoever uploaded Mia Gover’s bulletin last night (Saturday) would have finally twigged and fixed up this fucking shemozzle!
But, alas no! COLUMN UPGRADE TOTALLY WARRANTED!
UPDATE: 11.08 am Sunday. Still fucked up. Bets, anyone, of when or if someone at 9Now and the 9 news network generally will show some professionalism, care about their image and put an end to this nonsense?
UPPERDATERER: 3.45pm Sunday 18 nov.
