If I ever had any doubts as to whether or not this world of ours is headed to hell in a handbasket, Trump’s overnight speech to the Israeli Knesset blew them away.

In 75 years on this planet, I’ve heard some so-called world leaders sprout some dreadfully awful, putrid, vomit-inducing, shit but Trump has set a new benchmark for truly sinister that’s going to take a helluva lot of time to beat, if ever.

Sorry, that’s all I’ve got today. It’s back under the doona for me as I await the inevitable. I might need to resort to an old trick of singing aloud the soundtrack from Oliver! to keep my mind clear of that Trump speech, all those world leaders in Egypt sucking Trump’s bloated orange arse as clean as a whistle, as Bill Lawry used to say, and even our own Penny Wong once more banging on overnight about the fantasy of a two-state solution being the only path forward to lasting peace.
